Metalcote 15 is a zircon based refractory coating supplied in soft paste form, recommended in non-ferrous foundries for the protection of refractory products or metal tools in contact with liquid metal. The coating creates a ceramic barrier reducing iron contamination and dross build-up. Particularly suitable, as a release agent, for refractories of furnace linings, launders, transfer ladles, hot-top, casting devices, filter boxes.

The product is frost sensitive. Store at temperatures above 5 ° C and close the pails after use. It is possible that during storage some products containing mineral ingredients tend to precipitate. This phenomenon is normal due to the specific density of the minerals. It is important to mix the product carefully before use. If properly stored the product shelf life exceeds 12 months.
