DEOX F – TUBES FOR REMOVING OXIDES
Deox “F” deoxidizing tubes are recommended for the elimination of oxides in the following copper alloys: commercial copper, tin bronzes, lead and zinc bronzes, brasses.
The formation of oxides takes place during the melting process. The metal containing oxides is consequently rich in gases and slag that are difficult to eliminate and the castings will therefore have inferior mechanical characteristics.
The regular use of Deox “F” tubes guarantees better fluidity of the metal with consequent advantages. The reaction obtained after immersing the tubes in the bath generates the combination of the phosphorus with the oxides and oxygen contained in excess in the metal.
