Deox “F” tubes are recommended for removing oxides from melts in commercial Copper alloys, Brass, Bronze, Gunmetal and Silver alloys.

These oxides are normally formed during melting. When metal is rich of oxides and consequently rich of gas, slag becomes pasty and castings will have poor mechanical properties.

The use of Deox “F” tubes increases metal fluidity. The reaction of the tubes, immersed into the bath, helps to combine the added phosphorus with oxygen and oxides contained in excess in the alloy.
