Metalcote 1995 is a special coating used for protection of cast iron and steel tools in contact with molten Aluminium. Most common application is for protecting pouring ladles in pressure or gravity die castings foundries.

Metalcote 1995 is recommended to avoid erosion activity of Aluminium and iron pick-up in the composition of the alloy. The product is widely used on pressure die casting ladles and auto pour ladles in gravity die casting. It can be applied on steel components such as discharge-stoppers of shaft melting furnaces. Also applied in stalk tubes gating area of low pressure dies and moving die components to implement lubrication. Also used for ejection pins lubrication.

Warnings

The product is frost sensitive: Store at temperatures above 5 ° C and close the pails after use. It is possible that during storage some products containing mineral ingredients tend to precipitate. This phenomenon is absolutely normal due to the specific density of the minerals. It is important to mix the product carefully before use. If properly stored the product shelf life exceeds 12 months.
